Individual Therapy

2.png

Therapy for children, teens and young adults. The first 3 sessions are focused on developing rapport, understanding the client’s preferences and modes of learning, and discussing family needs. Next, we create goals that address language, interaction, and learning needs according to social and cognitive skills. Therapy is typically 2 sessions weekly.

Therapy can be in-person or online with a combination of both often being best for busy schedules. Parent/family communication and training is a key component of every intervention we offer.

Pair and Group Therapy

Therapy for preteens and teens that focuses on peer engagement and communication strategies. A few of the topics we address for teens and young adults are:

  • Perspective taking

  • Conversation Skills:  choosing a topic, staying on topic, how much do I say?

  • Social Media: how many ‘likes’ is too much?

  • Starbucks Chat – practicing social skills through observation, coffee, and interaction with the public.

Professional Skills Development

Training and guidance for young adults with diverse abilities that includes basic office skills such as Google Suite.

More importantly, professional skills development focuses on the ‘little things’: Who do I greet in the mornings? When do I do it? How do I ‘follow-up’ on a task with my employer. How do I be friendly without being too personal? And many more topics that affect the day to day of the professional world.

Therapy can be in-person or online with a combination of both often being the most tenable for busy schedules. Parent/family communication and training is a key component of every intervention we offer.
